Building a Clinic From the Ground Up

Opening a clinic isn't just cutting a ribbon. It means building everything at once — the team, the technology, the vendor relationships, the legal and tax infrastructure — while keeping two other locations running without missing a beat.

The problem: Well Life Family Medicine was growing faster than its operational infrastructure could support. Opening a third location meant standing up an entirely new clinic from scratch — new space, new staff, new vendors, new state tax obligations — while simultaneously managing two existing locations and an expanding remote provider network.

What I built: The full operational foundation for the new clinic from the ground up. Led hiring and onboarding for both primary care and mental health providers working across in-clinic and remote settings. Managed every vendor relationship the clinic depended on — suppliers, landlords, internet and technology providers — negotiating contracts and holding partners accountable to SLAs. Handled multi-state tax setup and compliance to ensure the business was properly structured as it crossed state lines with remote providers.

The outcome: A third location launched and is fully operational, staffed with a blended team of in-clinic and remote providers across primary care and mental health. A vendor and compliance infrastructure built to scale with the business — not just the moment.
